The Limapela Foundation

Quality education for Zambia based on Christian values

April 2025

As our new Lower Primary Building at Limapela Cedric’s nears completion, and as we anticipate the building being occupied and put to good use, our staff, children and community members alike are responding with enthusiasm. We look forward to having every class start at 07:30 every day, rather than having some classes start in the late morning.

It is tempting to judge the progress of the school by the appeal of its buildings and infrastructure, so I am reminding our teachers that success is better measured by what happens in the classrooms, and on relationships forged with the boys and girls.

Our first Grade 10 class started this term at Limapela Cedric’s, not without teething problems, but this marks the start of our expansion to a full secondary department. The Grade 10 pupils have a distinctive new uniform which establishes their seniority! Nearly 500 pupils are now enrolled, and a new secondary building is on the drawing board and ready to start as soon as funding is available.

Luyando Community School gave a warm welcome to school founder Martin Zuch in February. Martin is based in the UK where he continues to support the school through his business venture Mama Buci, a company that processes and distributes Zambian honey mamabuci.com.

Next week Dr Davison Kwendakwema will visit Limapela Cedric’s with his team to check the children’s eyes. Problems with eyesight often go un-noticed, and Zambians tend to be stoical or fatalistic, not realising that treatment is available.

We are grateful to all in the Limapela donor community for their generous and faithful support. Through all of you our Heavenly Father provides in abundance for our many needs. Please take some time to read about our various programmes.
