St Paul's School Visitors…

What a pleasure and privilege it was to have this student group from London visit us at Limapela Cedric’s last month. It proved to be a wonderful time of sharing, exchange and friendship between pupils from one of the best schools in the UK and our less privileged pupils here in Zambia. Horizons will have been undoubtedly widened on both sides.

Limapela Running Club…

10 runners participated in the 5 km fun run at the First National Bank Kopala Run in Kitwe on 20 July. It proved to be a most enjoyable morning. I was amazed and heartened to see how well the event was organised for some 4,000 participants from all over the Copperbelt. The powers that be, including government and local body representatives truly showed their commitment to promoting health and fitness for Zambians of all ages. The atmosphere was friendly and enthusiastic. Thomas (16) finished 5th in the open section of the 5 km run, and Ryan (13) was placed 3rd in the under 13 section.

Onesimus Fund…

It was a joy to see Joshua Sianyimbo graduate Bachelor of Education from Mufulira College of Education last month. Joshua’s father had a stroke and died when Joshua was still in at Limapela Cedric’s. His mother Stella has worked faithfully as a maid at the school for many years. It is to her credit to see how she has raised her five children single-handed since then. We are now seeing the fulfilment of the Onesimus Fund objectives — to assist able students from poorer homes to further their education.

The Kafakumba Singers…

…travelled to Musenga, on Sunday 21 July, to share and present their music in a service of worship at Amano Christian School. They were warmly welcomed and friendships have now been renewed since their last visit there two years ago.

Limapela Lodge…

Alison and I enjoy a continuing flow of overnight guests at Limapela Lodge. Keeping everything running smoothly brings its pressures, but we always feel blessed and encouraged by our visitors.
