The Limapela Foundation

Quality education for Zambia based on Christian values

October 2023

Schools

We are grateful for a smooth start to the school term in both schools last month. We enjoy seeing them all dressed nicely in their uniforms, even the tattered ones, sitting attentively in class most of the time.

Our schools seem to be well appreciated by parents and community. This shows that many Zambian parents value a good education for their children.

We are grateful for the assurance that our Heavenly Father constantly and faithfully provides for both Limapela needs and personal needs. We are grateful to those who support these needs financially, and we encourage you to continue your regular giving. (Contact us) Our staff are facing substantial increases in the cost of living here in Zambia. They don’t complain, but we do need to increase salaries and wages.

Needs

Many of our young people have continuing personal needs, so we need level heads, discernment and wisdom in order to respond appropriately. Joseph, a young man in the Kafakumba Singers, was attacked in the compound by persons unknown and was taken to hospital with facial injuries. Another choir member, a girl of 15, confused by many emotional difficulties and conflicts with her mother and stepfather, has changed schools this month and Alison has been helping her to settle in.

Personal

Alison and I enjoyed a peaceful and restful camping holiday in the bush up at Mutinondo in the Muchinga Province, enjoying the beauty of God’s creation away from the normal demands of our lives here in the Copperbelt.

Upon our return to Baluba I had a sudden attack of labyrinthitis while in the bank in town. The effects were both frightening and debilitating, and a reminder that our normal good health is only by God’s grace. Happily, I have made a quick and complete recovery.

With thanks and warm greetings to you all.
